Libraries - History of The Central Library

The Central Library of the faculty of Commerce, Catering and Tourism was set up in 1969, when the institution was transformed into a college.

The core of its stock consist of books inherited from the legal predecessors, including a few handbooks and encyclopedias from the library of the Academy of Commerce, and the highly valuable catering collection donated by the Ministry of National Trade. The latter includes one of the most complete cook-book collections in Hungary.

The 10,000 copies at the beginning has by now grown to 90,000. The library collects for all educational fields of the complete of the faculty of the college.

The Central Library functions as a ntional referenc library for catering as it is open for outside researchers as well as catering and gastronomy profesionals.
