The Faculty of Commerce aims at training Commerce professionals with up-to-date Economics knowledge and commercial skills applicable in both the national and foreign markets, who are capable of managing the commercial function of companies, managing small, medium sized and large sales organisations, or the overall operations of an independent commercial business.

The Faculty of Commerce is managed by the Institute of Commerce. There are three stages in the educational programme:

During the unified basic programme, in addition to Economics, Mathematics, and Accounting, our students are trained in Marketing, Low, Logistics and Sales. Besides the general training, students can take electives.

In the special commercial programme, students can take up specialisations to deepen their expertise in the selected area. Specialisations offered by the Institute of Commerce are:

• Advertising and Marketing
• Foreign Trade
• Customs
• Economic Journalism
• Finance
• European Studies.

The basic and special programmes are followed by an industrial placement period, where our students work as Manager Assistants. The practical experience gained here will help our students in preparing their final dissertations.

Those successfully completing their studies graduate with an Economist, Faculty of Commerce diploma.

A German language graduate programme is also offered at the Faculty of Commerce. New tasks related to the EU accession, the increasing number of Austrian, German and Swiss companies in Hungary, and the fact itself that future professionals could pursue their studies in a foreign language made it necessary to launch this course. Both Hungarian and foreign students can participate in the programme.

From the Academic year 2004/2005 on, a new English Study Programme has been started. The structure is very similar to the Hungarian and German study programme, but in some cases there might be differences deriving from the different cultural background and traditions.
